Mohamed Salah
- Brighton (a) & Arsenal (a)
- Chances of scoring: 51% & 44%
A double gameweek for Salah means he was always going to be the number one option. Bluntly put, it is a risk not giving him the captain’s armband.
Earlier in the season, he chalked an assist against Brighton, plus scored a goal against Arsenal, in his already lethal scoring record against them. He has scored seven goals and notched two assists in his nine league starts against the Gunners.
It is anticipated that Salah will be the highest captained player this DGW.
The Egyptian performed well even by his standards last time Liverpool doubled. He scored 28 points in DGW26, which included three goals, an assist, and five bonus points.
Trent Alexander-Arnold
- Brighton (a) & Arsenal (a)
- Chances of scoring: 9% & 8%
- Chances in keeping a cleansheet: 42% & 33%
Another Red who has been capable of matching the armband ambitions alike Salah is TAA. The highest-scoring defender amassed a massive 15 points against Arsenal in November, accumulating two assists and collecting maximum bonus in a 4-0 win.
The defensive metrics with his first opponent in the double brews heaps of Liverpool scoring opportunities. And you’d anticipate Trent to be a part of them. The Seagulls have conceded nine goals from their last four matches. Only Norwich, Leeds, and Everton have conceded more in that spell.
Harry Kane
- Man United (a) & Brighton (a)
- Chances of scoring: 36% & 42%
The next candidate for the armband is the leading striker from Spurs, in Harry Kane. The last time Spurs went to Old Trafford, Kane scored a brace alongside an assist, in Spurs’ 6-1 win.
In the last six matches Spurs have won in all competitions, Kane has managed to score in each of them. This too, has been emphasised in his last three gameweeks, scoring five while chalking an assist too.
The three-time golden boot winner has raced back into form. He has scored 45 points in the last six gameweeks, which is the most of any player in the game.
Heung Min-Son
- Man United (a) & Brighton (a)
- Chances of scoring: 30% & 35%
Much like Kane, Son also scored twice and assisted, the last time Spurs went to Old Trafford. Recently they have been prolific together and are now even the Premier League’s most deadly duo in terms of assists for each other.
The Korean has had attacking involvements in Tottenham’s last four matches. This has comprised of three goals and two assists. It’s a reasonable shout to captain him over Kane, considering their fantasy position.
A midfielder scores an extra point for a clean sheet plus a goal, compared to a forward. Son is currently the fifth highest points scorer in the game.
Being a midfielder obviously plays in Son’s favour but previous games show he is far less likely to complete 90 minutes.
