Some managers prefer player selections on analytics alone. Whilst others, prefer to use their eyes to create their gut-feel picks.
Our FPL Tips consist of odds, fixtures, form, and stats.
But for this article, let’s neglect all that, and use nothing more than the eye-test.
With the top two sides having a double gameweek, managers should prioritise getting 3 Arsenal and Man City players.
Harry Kane
- Fixture: Leicester (a)
- Price: £11.7m
- Picked by: 37%
The first of our picks for the eye-enthusiasts is Tottenham’s all-time record goalscorer.
Kane scored his 267th career goal as a Spurs player last weekend, in their 1-0 home win over Man City. This also broke Jimmy Greaves’ record, having stood for more than 50 years.
He has the right opponent to build on the consistency he’s shown this campaign. Kane loves playing against Leicester!
His 18 goals in 17 appearances against them are the most he’s scored against any PL opponent.
In addition, he is ranked second for expected goals (xG) of 14.58, just behind Erling Haaland.
The last time he blanked away in the league, was Gameweek 14, in their 3-2 away win at Bournemouth.
The last time he blanked and appeared against the Foxes, in which Spurs scored in, was the 9th of December 2018.
Tottenham’s number 10 has scored in his last four league games against Brendan Rodgers’ men.
Bukayo Saka
- Fixture: Brentford (H) & Man City (H)
- Price: £8.3m
- Picked by: 27%

Next in line, is Arsenal’s spice man, in Bukayo Saka. With Arsenal’s DGW23 fixtures both being at home, Saka has the platform to sustain his excellent scoring record at the Emirates.
In games Arsenal scored, the 21-year-old last blanked at home in Gameweek 9. This was where the Gunners dismantled their North London rivals 3-1.
In addition, Arsenal’s number 7 did score against both of his upcoming opponents in the corresponding fixtures last season.
He does have competition between Martinelli and Martin Odegaard when it comes to sharing the fantasy spoils.
However, with the latest signing of Belgium’s Leandro Trossard, it reduces Martinelli’s minutes more than it does for Bukayo.
Despite converting one already this campaign, his future duties as their designated penalty taker could be in doubt. This has come due to Arsenal’s recent January signing, Jorginho.
Riyad Mahrez
- Fixture: Aston Villa (H) & Arsenal (a)
- Price: £7.7m
- Picked by: 9%

The Algerian remains hot property on the shopping list for many fantasy managers, mainly due to his starting regularity.
Man City’s right-winger ranks inside the top 10 for most points scored since the restart, with 46. His 46 points consist of 6 goals and 3 assists.
Unsurprisingly, only Haaland has scored more than him in that spell, amongst all Man City players.
Mahrez is City’s second most likely anytime goalscorer (among players who are expected to start). His 35% chance of scoring even beats the far more expensive Kevin De Bruyne (27%).
Furthermore, Mahrez has returned in each of his last three games at the Emirates.
This included his converted penalty in last season’s fixture on New Year’s Day, in which City came away with a 2-1 win.
James Maddison
- Fixture: Tottenham (H)
- Price: £8.0m
- Picked by: 4%
Some may say, the fantastic Mr Fox is back! His goalscoring form certainly is, after his first game back from injury. Leicester’s number 10, scored the opening goal in their 4-2 away win to Aston Villa last weekend.
Saturday marked his first start since GW16, which was away to West Ham. Coincidentally, he scored the opening goal of that game, before being substituted off through to injury.
The former Canarian registered the third-highest xGOT (expected goals on target) with 0.60, behind Tete and Villa’s Ollie Watkins.
In addition, he created the most chances of any Leicester player with two.
Surprisingly, the last time he returned in a home match, was in Gameweek 9. His 18-point haul that night secured an almighty 4-0 over Nottingham Forest.
Lisandro Martinez
- Fixture: Leeds (a)
- Price: £4.5m
- Picked by: 7%
Martinez has proved a revelation for Utd, consequently cementing his spot in the starting line-up.
He has started all bar five of United’s five league games this campaign. As a result, our Premier League team news has him at an 80% chance of starting.
The Argentinian has been in fine form since the restart, having banked three clean sheets, alongside a goal away to Arsenal at the Emirates.
Don’t expect too many goals though, he scored 6 in 120 appearances for Ajax (1 every 20 games).
