Gameweek 21 Preview
We will be previewing each Fantasy Premier League Gameweek throughout the season. Team fixtures, captain choices and which players to transfer in/out will all be discussed. Here is our FPL Gameweek 21 preview.
Gameweek 21 Fixtures
The most notable fixture news from Gameweek 21 is that both Tottenham and West Ham don’t have fixtures. This is because the Tottenham vs West Ham was re-arranged and now falls in Gameweek 22. Therefore Tottenham and West Ham have a Double Gameweek in Gamweek 22. The three fixtures that will be highlighted for potential FPL points on paper are Man Utd at home to Southampton, Liverpool hosting Leicester and Chelsea vs Stoke. Southampton are coming off an absymal 5-2 defeat at the hands of Tottenham. This would suggest they are in for a torrid time at Old Trafford also. However, Man Utd’s form hasn’t been good. They have drawn their last two matches and haven’t been the free scoring team they were earlier in the season. Liverpool have been scoring lots of goals, 12 in their last three games. Their home fixture against Leicester will be seen as another opportunity to keep up this tally. Chelsea are another team that have the potential to score a lot of goals. They have scored the sixth most goals in the Premier League but they will feel they have underperformed on this statistic. The most likely scorers of goals at the moment, Man City, face an away fixture to Crystal Palace. The Eagles have proven to be a resilient team since their terrible beginning to the season. Nevertheless with Man City as consistent and as threatening as they are it is hard to predict anything but a victory for the blue side of Manchester. Arsenal visiting West Brom and Watford hosting bottom of the table Swansea are two other notable fixtures.
Gameweek 21 Captain Choice
Despite failing to register a goal and only providing one assist in his last 5 matches, Eden Hazard is our Gameweek 21 captain choice.
In terms of scoring FPL points Eden Hazard has been well out of form. However, his performances continue to suggest FPL points are just around the corner. A home fixture to Stoke, a certain place in the starting 11 and penalty taking duties means we are backing him to perform in Gameweek 21.
Mohamed Salah’s ridiculous form doesn’t appear to be stopping any time soon. He has scored less than 6 points only twice in the last 10 Gameweeks! A home fixture against Leicester is more than enough justifcation to captain Mohamed Salah.
Similar to Mohamed Salah, Raheem Sterling’s form this season has been exceptional. He has scored 36 points in his last three Gameweeks. He is a less likely starter than our other captain options and this may deter some FPL managers from giving him the arm band. Nevertheless he is still a justifiable captain choice.
Questions continue to be asked of the attitude and performances of Romelu Lukaku. He hasn’t had a double digit Gameweek since Gameweek 5. However, Man Utd’s opponents Southampton are coming off a poor 5-2 defeat at the hands of Tottenham. This may warrant a risky captain choice for the Man Utd’s number 9.
Players In and Players Out
Here are the top 5 players you should be transferring in and out of your team prior to the Gameweek 21 deadline. If you expect a player to go down after a given Gameweek it is wise to transfer him out early to avoid the likely price decrease. Likewise it is sensible to transfer in a player early that you believe will go up in price before the deadline. These top 5 are based on potential price changes, fixtures and general form. We will also try and offer players from different teams.
