Gameweek 22 Preview
We will be previewing each Fantasy Premier League Gameweek throughout the season. Team fixtures, captain choices and which players to transfer in/out will all be discussed. Here is our FPL Gameweek 22 preview.
Gameweek 22 Fixtures
Gameweek 22 is a big one in that it includes a Double Gameweek for both Tottenham and West Ham. Smart FPL managers will look to make the most of this. Hopefully you have been preparing for this since it was announced or you have used a late wildcard to adjust your teams accordingly. Of course it is advantageous to have as many Tottenham and West Ham players as you can for this Gameweek. That doesn’t mean you should be taking -4 point hits to bring them without calculating whether it is worth it. Tottenham face an away trip to bottom of the table Swansea and then a home game to West Ham. West Ham’s other fixture is an attractive one at home to West Brom. Double Gameweeks aside Man City have the best fixture with a home match against Watford. City are coming off a disappointing draw against Crystal Palace but nearly everyone will be expecting them to comfortably dispatch Watford. Liverpool and Man Utd face respective away trips Burnley and Everton. Both fixtures may prove tricky and therefore FPL returns may be limited. The biggest game of Gameweek 22 is Arsenal vs Chelsea. It could be a game of vital importance to the Champions League places. The way the game will go in terms of FPL is hard to predict.
Gameweek 22 Captain Choice
The Gameweek 22 captain has to be a Tottenham or West Ham player, preferably a Tottenham player. Naturally Harry Kane is our Gameweek 22 captain choice.
Harry Kane is always a top choice for captain. When he has a Double Gameweek it’s almost too risky to not captain him. However, he has picked up an o9iuillness in the last couple of days so there are questions surrounding whether he will play in both games. This simply means you can probably afford to not bring him in for Gameweek 22 but if you have him you should still captain him.
Dele Alli hasn’t looked as dangerous as he did last season and this has been reflected in his FPL returns. His form has changed over the last couple of Gameweeks though. Four assists and a goal in that time period means he is now not only a viable option to transfer in but also a good captain choice.
Heung Min Son
Heung Min Son has consistently contributed to Tottenham’s success this season. He has started the last 6 Premier League games and with questions circulating about Harry Kane’s inclusion he looks set to be involved in both games here. Another solid captain pick.
Players In and Players Out
Here are the top 5 players you should be transferring in and out of your team prior to the Gameweek 22 deadline. If you expect a player to go down after a given Gameweek it is wise to transfer him out early to avoid the likely price decrease. Likewise it is sensible to transfer in a player early that you believe will go up in price before the deadline. These top 5 are based on potential price changes, fixtures and general form. We will also try and offer players from different teams.
- Harry Kane
- Dele Alli
- Heung Min Son
- Angelo Ogbonna
- Romelu Lukaku
- Kevin De Bruyne
- Eden Hazard
- Gabriel Jesus
- Chris Smalling
