Bruno Fernandes

  • Price: £11.7m
  • Picked by: 19%
  • Fixtures: West Ham (H), Burnley (a), Southampton (H)

Fernandes produced two very impressive performances in GW22, scoring and assisting two goals in his games against Villa and Brentford.

Those contributions made him the highest scoring player of the gameweek (23 points) and now has 7 goals and three assists this term.

His xA is the fourth highest in the league (4.5) as he’s produced the second most key passes (second most).

Also, he’s made 44 passes into the box (third most) as well as 75 shot-creating actions (fourth most).

Diogo Jota

  • Price: £8.4m
  • Picked by: 38%
  • Fixtures: Crystal Palace (a), Leicester (H), Burnley (a)

In Salah’s absence, Jota has picked up the mantle of being Liverpool’s go-to attacking asset.

He’s the league’s second top goalscorer (10 goals), scoring 0.62 goals per 90.

His non-penalty xG is the highest (11.5) and is largely down to the number of shots he takes, 58 overall (third most).

Liverpool have scored the most goals (55) and face a Palace team with just one clean sheet in their last 10 matches.

Additionally, he is coming off a brace in Liverpool’s League Cup semi-final win over Arsenal. However, in their 3-0 win over Brentford last time out in the Premier League.

Ollie Watkins

  • Price: £7.7m
  • Picked by: 13%
  • Fixtures: Everton (a), Leeds (H), Newcastle (a)

Villa’s top scorer with 5 goals this season is Ollie Watkins.

He has a non-penalty xG of 6 (10th highest in the league), which suggests that more goals are to come.

They could arrive in GW23 as Villa face Everton, who’ve sacked Rafa Benitez and sit 16th without a win in 5 games.

Everton have conceded 34 goals (5th most) and the fact that Villa still have a chance of a DGW makes this a good transfer to consider.

Even with the emergence of Coutinho, Watkins looks as likely as anyone to start, having played 90 minutes in 16 of Aston Villa’s last 17 league games.

Lucas Digne

  • Price: £5.0m
  • Picked by: 5%
  • Fixtures: Everton (a), Leeds (H), Newcastle (a)

Despite scoring zero points Digne had a promising debut for Villa.

Against United he had two shots in the box, created two chances and put four crosses into the box.

In GW23 he faces his former club Everton, which poses a great opportunity to gain points in Gerrard’s system that emphasises attacking full backs.

Conor Coady

  • Price: £4.6m
  • Picked by: 11%
  • Fixtures: Brentford (a), Arsenal (H), Spurs (a)

Coady is part of a Wolves defence that’s only conceded 5 times in their last 10 games.

He has helped them keep 8 clean sheets overall, scoring twice as well.

Their defence is the second best in the league, conceding only 15 goals and look solid no matter who they face.

It should be noted Wolves do have a run of relatively tough fixtures following Brentford, which in itself is far from easy.
