Gameweek 24 Preview
We will be previewing each Fantasy Premier League Gameweek throughout the season. Team fixtures, captain choices and which players to transfer in/out will all be discussed. Here is our FPL Gameweek 24 preview.
Gameweek 24 Fixtures
Man City at home to Newcastle should be seen as the best chance to get FPL points. Newcastle have conceded just two goals in their last four games with one of those coming against Man City in the reverse fixture. Nevertheless Man City are odds on to score three or more goals. Arsenal also have a home fixture they will be eyeing up as a chance to bounce back after their defeat to Bournemouth. They host Crystal Palace who have taken 7 points from their last 9. Despite this Arsenal are still 1/2 on to win the game. Elsewhere, Liverpool travel to Swansea. Swansea sit bottom of the league but have accumulated four points since their 5-0 defeat to Liverpool in Gameweek 20. Man Utd are also on the road and they visit Burnley. Their fantastic start to the season has somewhat dwindled in recent weeks as they have only picked up two points in their last 15 available. As a result Man Utd will expect nothing less than victory here. Tottenham face Southampton away in a fixture that traditionally isn’t considered easy. However, Southampton’s form isn’t great right now after picking up just three points out their last 15. They currently sit 17th in the table and Tottenham are coming off a 5-2 win against them from less than a month ago. Other notable fixtures include Brighton vs Chelsea, Everton vs West Brom, Leicester vs Watford and West Ham vs Bournemouth.
Gameweek 24 Captain Choice
Our Gameweek 24 captain choice is Sergio Aguero. Could have easily been Harry Kane but we decided to go with the better fixture.
It seems Harry Kane gets a goal every week. Whilst this clearly isn’t true he isn’t too far off. He has scored 8 goals in his last 5 games and is always involved in Tottenham’s goals. An away fixture against Southampton probably won’t deter FPL managers from giving him the captain’s armband again.
With Gabriel Jesus out injured Sergio Aguero becomes a certain starter. He has an excellent record against Newcastle including 5 goals in one game from 2016. Combine this with the likelihood of Man City scoring 3 or more goals then Sergio Aguero might be the best Gameweek 24 captain pick.
Mohamed Salah’s incredible form this season hasn’t stopped. He is the top scoring FPL player by 32 points. As a result he has become a viable captain choice every Gameweek. Liverpool travel to bottom of the table Swansea and therefore he will no doubt be a popular captain choice again.
Players In and Players Out
Here are the top 5 players you should be transferring in and out of your team prior to the Gameweek 24 deadline. If you expect a player to go down after a given Gameweek it is wise to transfer him out early to avoid the likely price decrease. Likewise it is sensible to transfer in a player early that you believe will go up in price before the deadline. These top 5 are based on potential price changes, fixtures and general form. We will also try and offer players from different teams.
- Sergio Aguero
- Leroy Sane
- Alexandre Lacazette
- Marcos Alonso
- Marko Arnautovic
- Alvaro Morata
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin
- Dele Alli
