Gameweek 25 Preview
We will be previewing each Fantasy Premier League Gameweek throughout the season. Team fixtures, captain choices and which players to transfer in/out will all be discussed. Here is our FPL Gameweek 25 preview.
Gameweek 25 Fixtures
Gameweek 25 is a midweek Premier League fixture set following the FA Cup 4th round. The biggest game is undoubtedly Tottenham vs Man Utd. If Tottenham are going to have any chance of finishing ahead of Man Utd this season then they will need three points here. In terms of FPL it is a hard fixture to predict. Man City and Chelsea boast the easiest games on paper. Respectively they play West Brom and Bournemouth at home. West Brom have had better performances since the arrival of Alan Pardew. Even so it is hard to see anything but a high scoring Man City victory here. Chelsea recently drew at home to Leicester but once again a dominant Chelsea victory is expected. Arsenal are coming off an impressive victory over Crystal Palace and now face Swansea away. The Swans are coming off a home victory to Liverpool showing they are capable of an upset. However, they do still sit bottom of the table and this one should be an Arsenal banker. Liverpool will be looking to rectify their loss to Swansea with a victory at Huddersfield. Liverpool are now coming off two losses in all competitions but will hope to put that behind them against an out of form Huddersfield. Other notable fixtures include Everton vs Leicester, Newcastle vs Burnley, Southampton vs Brighton and West Ham vs Crystal Palace.
Gameweek 25 Captain Choice
Coming off a hat-trick with an excellent fixture on paper Sergio Aguero has to be our Gameweek 25 captain choice.
Tottenham face a difficult fixture when they face Man Utd at home. This isn’t the ideal fixture to captain Harry Kane in. Jose Mourinho is known to play a tight game in matches against the top teams. Nonetheless Harry Kane is still 6/5 at best to score meaning he is still a viable captain choice.
Man City’s incredible goal scoring form, coming off a hat-trick, a home fixture to West Brom and penalty taking duties combine to give four excellent reasons why Sergio Aguero is arguably the best captain choice for Gameweek 25.
Liverpool’s opponents Huddersfield have lost their last three Premier League games. Other than a blip against Swansea, Mohamed Salah has been consistently picking up FPL points. There’s no reason why an away trip to Huddersfield should deter you from picking him as captain.
Eden Hazard continues to put in match winning performances most of the time he plays. However, one criticism of him would be he doesn’t score or assist as many of Chelsea’s goals as he should. Nevertheless he has 27 points in his last three games and is of course on penalties. A home fixture to Bournemouth only sweetens the deal. We expect him to be a popular captain pick among the FPL managers who have him.
Players In and Players Out
Here are the top 5 players you should be transferring in and out of your team prior to the Gameweek 25 deadline. If you expect a player to go down after a given Gameweek it is wise to transfer him out early to avoid the likely price decrease. Likewise it is sensible to transfer in a player early that you believe will go up in price before the deadline. These top 5 are based on potential price changes, fixtures and general form. We will also try and offer players from different teams.
