Gameweek 26 Preview

We will be previewing each Fantasy Premier League Gameweek throughout the season. Team fixtures, captain choices and which players to transfer in/out will all be discussed. Here is our FPL Gameweek 26 preview.

Gameweek 26 Fixtures

Despite Man City being away to an always determined Burnley team they probably still present the best opportunity for goals in Gameweek 26. This is even with Man Utd at home to Huddersfield who unlike previous Man Utd sides just don’t seem to be conducive to high scoring games. Regardless both the Manchester sides statistically give you the best chance of FPL points. Elsewhere Arsenal are at home to Everton. With the blue side of Merseyside under the management of Sam Allardyce it is unlikely they will fold to an inconsistent Arsenal team. With that said though there is the tantalizing prospect of Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang starting alongside one another. Much like Arsenal, Chelsea are also coming off a shock loss. They will look to bounce back away to Watford who have the worst home record in the Premier League. The biggest match of Gameweek 26 is Liverpool vs Tottenham. The result of this could have huge Champions League qualifying implications. All that can be predicted in terms of the result is goals and excitement. The two other notable fixtures for FPL points are an in form Bournemouth at home Stoke and Leicester at home to 19th placed Swansea.

Gameweek 26 Captain Choice

The captain choice for Gameweek 26 was especially close but we have decided to go with Sergio Aguero again.

Harry Kane

Tottenham’s star man failed to get anything other than appearance points in their 2-0 victory over Man Utd. Nevertheless even in a fixture away to Liverpool he is only 13/10 to score. Not our choice this week but we couldn’t argue with anyone that does captain him. Interstingly, Mohamed Salah is also 13/10 to score in this fixture.

Sergio Aguero

With a last minute goal against West Brom, Sergio Aguero has now scored four in his last two games. Moreover, he is a certain starter for Man City due to the injury Gabriel Jesus sustained. An away trip to Burnley isn’t the easiest of prospects but the Clarets have shown they can be taken apart by a world class striker as Harry Kane scored a hat-trick in Tottenham’s visit to Turf Moor. Sergio Aguero is 4/5 to score.

Romelu Lukaku

Romelu Lukaku won’t be anywhere near as popular of a captain for a home fixture against Huddersfield as he would have been earlier in the season. He has only scored one goal in the previous 7 Gameweeks. Nonetheless there will be some FPL managers who see this fixture as the best opportunity for FPL points. In addition to this he may give FPL managers who are chasing the top of the table a chance to catch up as his pick percentage has fallen significantly.

Eden Hazard

Eden Hazard’s point returns have been frustratingly sporadic for his owners in FPL this season. He has scored double digit points 5 times this season but has frequently got one and two point scores also. He will be a tempting captain choice this week as there is a chance he could play in the number 9 role again. Chelsea are also away to Watford team who have the worst Premier League home record this season.

Players In and Players Out

Here are the top 5 players you should be transferring in and out of your team prior to the Gameweek 26 deadline. If you expect a player to go down after a given Gameweek it is wise to transfer him out early to avoid the likely price decrease. Likewise it is sensible to transfer in a player early that you believe will go up in price before the deadline. These top 5 are based on potential price changes, fixtures and general form. We will also try and offer players from different teams.
