FPL Gameweek 26 Preview – Tips, Fixtures, Stats – 20/21

Just as we finish one double Gameweek, we move on to the third double Gameweek in a row. Gameweek 26 brings us a huge 17 Premier League fixtures.

Plenty of Fantasy Premier League managers will be considering using one of the precious chips to gain a boost over those who have already used them.

With countless great options and plenty more games to consider, we help by looking at each Premier League teams’ percentage chance of winning, the most likely goalscorers and which teams have the best chance of a clean sheet.

Man City vs West Ham

  • Home Win: 80%

Man City kept up their winning run last week even though Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, tried to use his inside knowledge of City to exploit their weaknesses. It only worked to a certain extent but The Citizens still came away with a 1-0 win. It was Raheem Sterling who scored the only goal of the game which was his third in the last three league games.

In Gameweek 26, City will face in-form West Ham after they beat local rivals, Tottenham, 2-1 at home. Striker, Michail Antonio, marked his return from injury with a goal and new signing, Jesse Lingard, grabbed the other. Priced at just £5.9m, Lingard is averaging 5.7 points per game and is owned by just 3.1% of FPL managers.

West Brom vs Brighton

West Brom managed to hold Burnley to a goalless draw, even after going down to ten men. This was only the third clean sheet for The Baggies but it earned goalkeeper, Sam Johnstone, seven FPL points including a bonus point.

The Baggies will hope to pull their next opponents into a relegation scrap as they play Brighton at home. The visitors creeped a little closer to the drop zone this week after losing 2-1 to Crystal Palace. Finding the back of the net was the problem again for Brighton as they wasted the chances they created but couldn’t rely on the defence for a clean sheet this time.

Leeds vs Aston Villa

Leeds United completed a double Gameweek last week and to match their form all season, they won one and lost one. Defender, Stuart Dallas, scored the highest amount of FPL points in the Gameweek with 17. Raphinha scored his fifth goal of the season during the double Gameweek. Priced at just £5.4m, the midfielder is averaging 7.1 points per game based on form.

Aston Villa take on Leeds this week at Elland Road. Villa lost 2-1 in their last game, against Leicester, as Jack Grealish sat out with injury. The absence of their captain seemed to heavily hinder their performance and he has a reported 50% of returning this week.

Newcastle vs Wolves

Newcastle couldn’t manage a giant killing last week and they slumped to a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United. Winger, Allan Saint-Maximin, scored his first Premier League goal since returning from a lengthy absence. The £5.1m midfielder picked up seven FPL points in the process.

Wolves will head to Newcastle in Gameweek 26 and the visitors will hope to make it three wins in a row after beating Leeds 1-0 last weekend. It was the third clean sheet in the last six Premier Leagues games for Wolves. Goalkeeper, Rui Patricio made seven saves and picked up 11 FPL points.

Crystal Palace vs Fulham

Crystal Palace picked up a much-needed win over Brighton last week after Christian Benteke sealed the win in the 95th minute. New signing, Jean-Philippe Mateta, scored their other goal in the 2-1 victory. This was the £5.8m striker’s first Premier League goal since joining from Mainz.

Fulham took part in a key battle for survival last week and came out victorious. The Cottagers beat bottom of the league, Sheffield United, 1-0 to move three points from safety. Midfielder Ademola Lookman buried his fourth goal of season to and Fulham are now undefeated in four games. They play Crystal Palace in Gameweek 26.

Leicester vs Arsenal

Leicester City strengthened their position in the top four with a 2-1 win over Aston Villa last week. Midfield duo, James Maddison and Harvey Barnes, starred again as they both scored. Based on form, Maddison and Barnes are very hard to ignore as they are averaging 6.2 and 7.5 FPL points per game, respectively.

The Foxes will host Arsenal this week and their visitors were the latest victims of Man City’s winning streak. They didn’t make it easy for top of the league, City, but the end result was 1-0 and zero points for The Gunners.

Tottenham vs Burnley

Tottenham’s poor league run continued as they lost 2-1 to top four hopeful, West Ham United. This was the fifth defeat from the last six league games. Lucas Moura scored the only goal for Spurs and gained eight FPL points as a result.

Jose Mourinho’s side will hope to bounce back in Gameweek 26 as they host Burnley at The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Burnley are coming off a 0-0 draw with ten-man West Brom. Although the Clarets will be disappointed with the result, it was their ninth clean sheet of the season. Nick Pope sits in second place for the highest FPL point scoring goalkeepers so far this season.

Chelsea vs Man United

Chelsea came away with just one point last week after drawing with out of form, Southampton. The Blues will be disappointed with the result. However, Mason Mount will be happy he justified the faith his new boss has put in him. The midfielder converted Chelsea’s penalty and earned ten FPL points.

Manchester United take on Chelsea as the sides continue their battle for a Champions League spot. The Red Devils got back to winning ways by beating Newcastle 3-1 at Old Trafford. Bruno Fernandes grabbed his 15th goal and 12th assist of the season. Marcus Rashford is flying slightly under the radar as he is only owned by 12.2% of FPL managers even though his goal and assist made it two goals and three assists from the last four games.

Sheffield United vs Liverpool

Sheffield United missed a key opportunity to gain ground on other teams fighting relegation as they lost 1-0 to Fulham. The Blades now sit 14 points from safety.

The Merseyside derby didn’t go to plan for Liverpool as they lost their fourth consecutive home game in the Premier League. The Reds will be eyeing up their next fixture, against Sheffield United, as a chance to pick up a much-needed victory.

There were celebrations in the blue part of Merseyside last week after Everton won their first game at Anfield since 1999. Richarlison opened the scoring in their 2-0 win. This was his second goal in two Gameweeks.

Everton host Southampton in Gameweek 26 at Goodison Park. The Saints held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw last week and new signing Minamino scored his second goal in the last four games. In their second match of the Gameweek, Southampton lost 3-0 to Leeds United. They now sit in 14th in the league after briefly sitting in 1st earlier in the season.
