Gameweek 26 Tips: Best Players to Transfer In

FPL GW26 is here and it’s the biggest double gameweek of the season, with 8 teams playing twice.

That includes Arsenal, Burnley, Crystal Palace, Leeds, Liverpool, Spurs, Watford and Wolves, so this week it’s clear that players with a double gameweek should be targeted.

Best Players for FPL DGW26

The best players to bring in for DGW26 are Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ben Mee.

The most bought players ahead of DGW26 are Mohamed Salah, Bukayo Saka and Armando Broja.

Mohamed Salah

  • Price: £13.0m
  • Picked by: 49%
  • Fixtures: Norwich (H), Leeds (H), West Ham (H)

Salah, the league’s top scorer (16), is an absolute essential for this week.

The Egyptian also has 9 assists, averaging 1.18 attacking returns per 90.

He’s scored two penalties but still has the second highest non-penalty xG (10.8), taking the most shots (83).

Liverpool face the two worst defences in DGW26, Norwich and Leeds, conceding 50 and 46 goals respectively.

Being owned by nearly half of all managers, Salah will have an extremely high effective ownership this week so going without him will be a rank killer.

Of course, with Liverpool having 6 games in 16 days he isn’t guaranteed to start. However, the injurt Diogo Jota sustained in the Champions League certainly won’t harm his minutes in DGW26.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

  • Price: £8.5m
  • Picked by: 48%
  • Fixtures: Norwich (H), Leeds (H), West Ham (H)

Another must-have for DGW26 is Alexander-Arnold.

He has the most assists in the league (10), making 64 key passes, 109 shot-creating actions and 14 goal-creating actions, scoring twice as well.

His first opponents of the DGW, Norwich, have only scored 14 all season (the fewest in the league) so there’s a good chance of a clean sheet as well as attacking returns.

Unlike Andrew Robertson, TAA doesn’t have an obvious deputy. Therefore, along with Virgil van Dijk, Alexander-Arnold is probably the safest Liverpool outfield player in terms of minutes in GW26.

Odsonne Edouard

  • Price: £6.5m
  • Picked by: 9%
  • Fixtures: Chelsea (H), Watford (a), Burnley (H)

Edouard has 6 goals and four assists this season, averaging an xG per 90 of 0.46 (the 10th highest in the league).

He is also taking 2.39 shots per 90 and has a double gameweek, facing Chelsea and Watford.

Chelsea have only kept two clean sheets in their last 12 league games and Watford have conceded 43 times this campaign (the fourth most).

Even after the DGW he has Burnley at home so could continue his good debut season at Palace.

Bukayo Saka

  • Price: £6.4m
  • Picked by: 15%
  • Fixtures: Brentford (H), Wolves (H), Watford (a)

Just like Edouard, Saka has 6 goals and four assists too, averaging 0.55 returns per 90.

He has the highest non-penalty xG in the Arsenal squad (4.7) and has provided 78 shot-creating actions (7th most in the league) at a rate of 4.28 per 90.

Arsenal’s DGW pits them against Brentford and Wolves, both at home where Arsenal have lost only twice and won 7 of their 11 matches there.

A slight caveat to that is that Arsenal blank in GW27, so make sure you have someone to take his place.

Ben Mee

  • Price: £4.8m
  • Picked by: 1%
  • Fixtures: Brighton (a), Spurs (H), Palace (a)

Ben Mee may only have 50 points overall this season but he should be in consideration for this week.

Burnley have two double gameweeks in a row, starting with games against Brighton and Spurs in DGW26.

The Clarets have been solid lately, only conceding two in their last four against tough opposition such as Liverpool, Man United and Arsenal.

He’s also won 81 aerial duels and made 110 clearances (top 10 in the league for both stats), which are good for bonus points.

Additionally, he is an aerial threat, scoring two goals this term and could be a great differential option this gameweek.
