Gameweek 27 Preview
We will be previewing each Fantasy Premier League Gameweek throughout the season. Team fixtures, captain choices and which players to transfer in/out will all be discussed. Here is our FPL Gameweek 27 preview.
Gameweek 27 Fixtures
Tottenham vs Arsenal is the stand out fixture of Gameweek 27. The match could have huge Champions League implications but is a difficult one to predict. We expect both teams to score. Man City’s home fixture against Leicester seems to be the fixture that FPL managers will pinpoint to bring in points. Leicester are by no means pushovers away from home but Man City’s home form speaks for itself. The other fixture that will interest FPL managers for points is Chelsea vs West Brom. Chelsea of course are coming off two shocking defeats but nonetheless there is still the chance Chelsea put West Brom to the sword. Man Utd travel to Newcastle which on paper seems to have the potential to be a tight fixture. However, Man Utd have an excellent record at St James Park. Newcastle have beat Man Utd just once there since 2002! The odds also reflect this as Man Utd are 7/10 on to win. Liverpool face a fixture of similar difficulty when they travel south to Southampton. Southampton are undefeated in their last four Premier League games. Liverpool are 17/20 to win the game however.
Gameweek 27 Captain Choice
With Man City at home Sergio Aguero is our choice for the Gameweek 27 captaincy.
Sergio Aguero failed to score or assist in Gameweek 26 away to Burnley but a Man City home fixture means he is at the very least a strong consideration. Man City will be favorites in the Premier League to score the most goals this weekend. Moreover, with Gabriel Jesus still sidelined Sergio Aguero is a certain starter.
Tottenham face a tough fixture against an Arsenal teaming coming off a 5-1 victory over Everton. Even so it is still the type of fixture Harry Kane can score more than one in. He will likely be the most captained player in Gameweek 27 given his superior pick percentage to Sergio Aguero.
Chelsea’s poor form has been noted but even in the 4-1 defeat to Watford Eden Hazard still got 9 points after his initial equalizer. Currently, all the good work Chelsea do goes through him. Therefore a home fixture against West Brom has the potential for Eden Hazard to pick up some points. He would be our third choice captain for Gameweek 27.
