FPL GW24 Transfer Tips: Who Are the Best Picks?

With double and blank GWs just around the corner, strategic transfers and planning ahead is essential.

In this article, we’ll focus on players from two key teams: Manchester City and Liverpool.

While Liverpool enjoy a favorable GW24 fixture against Burnley at home, they face a blank in GW26.

On the other hand, City is ready for a run of three consecutive home games, and Haaland is back in the lineup.

Man City DGW25

City has very favorable fixtures ahead, Everton at home in GW24 and Chelsea and Brentford at home in DGW25.

According to our predicted points table, 3 out of the top 5 players for the next 2 GWs are from Citizens.

Moreover, in the next 4 GWs, the top 3 spots are all City players.

Haaland is the top asset for the coming gameweeks and justifiably so.

Started last game against Brentford and had 1 assist with 0.77 xGI.

Avoid him at your own risk, he has gone from £13.9m to £14.2m in less than a week.

Foden has shared he is delighted with his current form and so are the managers who own him.

He has scored 48 points in last 5 GWs, with 4 goals and 3 assists.

Assuming starting, Foden is predicted to score 36.8 points over the course of next 6 GWs (only behind Haaland).

De Bruyne has scored 24 points in the last 3 games, 180 minutes with an xGI of 0.66 per 90.

While KDB comes at a premium price, his recent performance since his return makes him a strong choice for the DGW.

Many managers will be faced with the conundrum of Haaland or De Bruyne.

The former is the safer option but De Bruyne is the one who will help your overall rank more, should he outperform the Norweigan.

Walker, who returned to the starting 11 last game, is the most nailed-on defender in City’s lineup.

Having played the full 90 minutes in 20 out of his 21 starts, boasting a 63% chance of clean sheet in the next 2 GWs, he’s very appealing.

The other alternative City defenders are Nathan Ake (£5.0m) and Josko Gvardiol (£4.8m).

Liverpool DGW25

Liverpool boasts 51% and 65% clean sheet odds for the next 2 GWs, with only City having better odds.

Two Liverpool players are among the top 5 predicted points earners over the next 2 GWs, with four in the top 10 overall.

TAA was limited to 57 minutes at the Emirates, although he generally gets the 90 when he starts.

Facing two promoted teams next, he has the potential to provide returns.

Conor Bradley is a threat that lurks around Trent’s spot. During his appearances in GW21 and GW22, he scored 29 points with 4 G/A.

That’s a small sample size but something to look out for with Trent’s current situation.

Jota has emerged as a top option in Liverpool’s attack in Salah’s absence.

In the 3 games since Salah left for AFCON, Jota has scored three times and assisted once.

He is predicted to score the second-most points (7.1) in GW24, facing Burnley at home.

Darwin Nunez presents a high ceiling with Liverpool’s upcoming DGW.

He boasts 1.32 xGI per 90 minutes and has scored 26 points in the last 5 GWs, averaging 6.55 points per 90.

The Uruguayan is frustratingly unpredictable but has the potential to be the gameweek defining asset.

Considering Liverpool’s clean sheet odds in both this week and the DGW, Van Dijk appears to be the nailed-on defender for those aiming for clean sheet points.

While he doesn’t offer much attacking threat (3 G/A this season), priced at £6.3m, he could be a solid option for the DGW.
