FPL GW24 Transfer Tips: Who Are the Best Picks?

FPL gameweek 24 is a single gameweek this time, but there are still great picks to consider using a transfer on.

This week there are some big names with good fixtures, including Harry Kane and Riyad Mahrez.

Here are the best assets to transfer in for GW24 – or should you save it?

Saving the Transfer

This is probably the smartest idea this week so that you have two free transfers for the double gameweek next week.

Most people are already set for GW24 and don’t need to desperately bring anyone in.

Doing this allows you to double or even triple up on Liverpool assets next week, as most will have three of Arsenal’s already.

Let’s be blunt, if you can we recommend holding the transfer for FPL GW24.

Harry Kane

  • Price: £11.8m
  • Picked by: 38%
  • Fixtures: West Ham (H), Chelsea (H), Wolves (a)
Kane FPL stats GW1 to GW23
Kane is having an incredible season…

If Haaland wasn’t having such a mind-blowing goalscoring season people would be raving about Harry Kane.

Kane has 17 goals (0.7 per 90), with 15 being non-penalty goals.

He has the third-highest xG in the league (14.6), taking the most shots overall (81), including the most on target too (36).

The England captain is also a world-class playmaking center-forward, with the highest xA for a forward this season (4.6), making 39 key passes (9th most).

He has the second most points in the game overall this term (150) and is arguably essential now.

Riyad Mahrez

  • Price: £7.8m
  • Picked by: 13%
  • Fixtures: Nottingham Forest (a), Bournemouth (a), Newcastle (H)

Mahrez has been in sublime form of late, scoring 52 points in the last 6 gameweeks.

The Algerian has 5 goals and 6 assists, getting 0.8 attacking returns per 90 (6th most).

Per 90, he has the second most goal-creating actions (5.6) as well as the most goal-creating actions (1.1).

In GW24 City face Nottingham Forest, who they beat 6-0 in the reverse fixture, with Mahrez picking up an assist.

James Tarkowski

  • Price: £4.2m
  • Picked by: 2%
  • Fixtures: Leeds (H), Aston Villa (H) + Arsenal (a), Nottingham Forest (a)

With Dyche now at the helm Everton’s defensive assets have become a lot more appealing.

In his first match in charge, they kept a clean sheet in the win over Arsenal.

Tarkowski is the perfect Everton pick, costing only £4.2m, and is nailed to start as he’s a familiar favourite with Dyche from their time together at Burnley.

He’s a threat in the opposition box too, having an xG of 1.6 which is the 6th highest amongst defenders.

Furthermore, he’s top of the rankings for blocks (57) and third for clearances (114), which are both good for bonus points.

Next week he becomes even more appealing with Everton having a double gameweek.

Max Kilman

  • Price: £4.3m
  • Picked by: 3%
  • Fixtures: Bournemouth (H), Fulham (a) + Liverpool (a), Spurs (H)

Wolves have improved defensively under Julen Lopetegui. Conceding an average of 1.6 per game before his arrival compared to just one per game under his stewardship.

Kilman, the most nailed Wolves defender who has played every minute this season, is the safe option.

Like Tarkowski, Kilman is third for blocks (45) and 5th for clearances (103), so he should be high on the bonus points system if Wolves keep a clean sheet.

They face Bournemouth this weekend, who have the lowest xG in the league (17.9), with a double gameweek after.
