The previous week in FPL saw many popular picks delivering, making it the second-best week in terms of average FPL points (68) thus far.
As fixtures begin to swing alongside a double gameweek for Burnley and Luton, FPL managers have plenty to consider.
Here are some of the top transfer picks for GW7.
Kieran Trippier
Newcastle’s defense has taken a positive turn, with clean sheets in all of their last 3 games.
Trippier showcased his playmaking abilities with 3 assists in just 69 minutes against Sheffield United, marking his first returns of the season.
Newcastle is up against Burnley at home, another newly promoted team. As a result, they also boast the best clean sheet percentage in GW7 (48% – tied with Everton).
Considering Burnley’s xG of just 4.0 (worst in the league) and only 4 goals scored in 5 games, their high clean sheet odds are understandable.
Moreover, looking ahead, Newcastle’s fixtures appear favorable until at least GW11.
Carlton Morris
Morris actually tops our predicted points table for GW7!
All 3 of Luton’s goals have been scored or assisted by Morris.
He has been consistent and is averaging 5.2 points per match, ranking him 4th among forwards.
GW7 presents a perfect opportunity to bring him in as it’s a double GW for Luton Town, with fixtures against Everton (a) and Burnley (H).
Considering Morris is the Luton team’s most prominent attacking threat, his appeal is justified – despite some in the FPL community thinking otherwise!
However, it’s essential to plan for the future, as Morris may not offer long-term value beyond this week.
If you intend to transfer him in, it’s advisable to have a clear strategy in place for what to do with him after the double GW.
Anthony Gordon
Gordon has enjoyed an impressive start to the season, scoring 5 G/A in 6 games and returning in 4 of those 6 matches.
Harvey Barnes’s injury should also open up more playing time for him. Consequently, we have him at 80% to start in our Premier League predicted lineups.
Looking ahead, Newcastle has a favorable run of fixtures from GW7 to GW12, with only West Ham in GW8 and Arsenal in GW11 presenting significant threats.
Priced at just £5.6m, he offers an excellent budget option in midfield.
Sergio Reguilon
Update: Reguilon has now been ruled out of GW7 with an injury.
Man Utd have had a shaky start to the season, with only 3 wins and 2 clean sheets in 6 games.
However, Reguilon emerges as a budget option for FPL managers. He is available at just £4.4m, making him very affordable.
Given the injuries in the left-back position for Manchester United, Reguilon is expected to start over the coming weeks.
With fixtures against Crystal Palace (H), Brentford (H), and Sheff Utd (a) in the next three games, he could be a great pick.
