FPL Midfielders to Watch – GW13 to GW20

FPL Midfielders to Watch GW13 to GW20 Midfielders

Fantasy Premier League edges ever closer which is a relief to FPL managers as they’ve had to endure the international break. Here we look at the top FPL midfielders to watch from GW13 to GW20.

Eden Hazard

According to many, the Belgian genius is in the form of his life. His 11 attacking returns (7 goals and 4 assists) in as many games is a testament to his current form. Consequently, he is owned by 43.9% of the FPL managers. His 30 shots on goal with 13 of them on target and creating 9 big chances is nothing but impressive. He is also fixture proof and an excellent captain option, particularly in home games. He has yielded attacking returns in more than 70% of the matches he has played so far, which proves his consistency. His FPL returns stand at a decent 7.3 points per million making his premium price worth every penny.

Verdict: High Retain Potential / High Fresh Pick Potential

Mohamed Salah

The Egyptian King’s return may have dried down compared to the last season, but he is still an excellent FPL pick. Currently owned by 35.9% of the managers, Salah is playing as a central forward this season which further increases his attacking potential. His 6 goals and 4 assists in 12 GWs with returns in 58% of the matches is excellent. His super high price tag means he needs to perform every week though! He is the eye of the attack-minded Liverpool side with an exceptional 4 shots per game. All these underlying stats indicate that Salah’s returns will increase as the season unfolds. Simply put, it is a risk not having him in your team.

Verdict: High Retain Potential / High Fresh Pick Potential

Sadio Mane

Sadio Mane’s great start to the season has somewhat dried up recently, as he scored 4 goals in first 4 gameweeks and just 2 in the next 7 he played. In addition, his lack of consistency is also a concern as he has returned in only 33% of the matches. However, each of them have been double digit returns. It is this reason that tempts his owners to trust him with the armband. At £9.9, with Mo Salah being more consistent, Sadio Mane creates an in house debate for FPL managers. He can outscore Salah in few gameweeks, but he is not a safe captain option.

Verdict: High Retain Potential / Low Fresh Pick Potential

Richarlison

Three goals in the first two games lead to a drastic price rise. The red card then lead to mass sales. An interesting start to the season for the £50 million man. Managers gained value and lost value on him in a whisker but beyond all that, the Brazilian didn’t lose shine and has continued to grow bit by bit in his new club. He is now he is the man to get when FPL managers look into the Everton attack. A natural winger, Richarlison has taken up the centre forward duties. He reassured the doubters with a clinical brace against Brighton in GW11. 10 shots on target in 10 appearances supporting his 6 goals and one assist proves the goal threat he is to any opponent. Everton’s fixtures are tricky in the festive period but in the next four gameweeks, they have three home fixtures against Cardiff City, Newcastle and Watford. We deem Richarlison as essential at least until GW16. His price won’t burn a hole in the FPL managers’ pocket, which may be untrue for his teammate, Sigurdsson.

Verdict: High Retain Potential / High Fresh Pick Potential

Gylfi Sigurdsson

Like the fine wine, Sigurdsson grows in stature every season and this season has been no different. After a slow start, this talisman from Iceland has been superb in lending Everton the much-needed balance in attack and has scored 4 times in last 6 games, which also includes a missed penalty. He is already the Toffees’ highest-scoring midfielder in FPL and the tally is only increasing given the attacking nature of their gameplay under Marco Silva. His penalty duties only add to his appeal and GW13 gives him a good entry point as Everton play Cardiff, Newcastle and Watford at home in their next four fixtures. He is, however, yellow tagged in FPL and should be monitored for injury.

VerdictHigh Retain Potential / High Fresh Pick Potential

Anthony Martial

At 12.1% TSB, the Frenchman is still a differential option. His current form with 6 goals already this season is nothing but impressive. With 14 shots on goal, 9 of them on target and 2 big chances created makes Anthony Martial the only pick from the Red Devils’ attack at the moment.

Verdict: High Retain Potential / High Fresh Pick Potential

Kenedy

Nothing has gone right for Kenedy and his team. Since his injury-time penalty miss against Cardiff City in GW2, he has got just one goal this season. This is in spite of looking sharp this season. His assist against Bournemouth shows glimpses of his ability. Newcastle has a run of favourable fixtures and therefore this presents an excellent opportunity for the Brazilian to start firing. He offers excellent value for money in midfield where FPL managers will try to accommodate as many premium assets as possible. This week, Newcastle travel to face Burnley who have been found wanting in defence more than often. As a differential option, Kenedy definitely has a lot of FPL value in him. At his price, it will be also easy to bench him in odd gameweeks.

Verdict: High Retain Potential / High Fresh Pick Potential

Solly March

Solly March has perhaps benefited the most from his teammate Pascal Groß’s early season injury layoff. He has taken on the providers role in the Brighton team. Yet March has shined and his graph is expected to go up as the season progresses. With set piece duties and a free role behind the marksman Glen Murray, March has ample opportunity to provide owners with attacking returns in any fixture in that matter. March has provided three assists so far this season and has created four big chances for a Brighton team who don’t boast much attacking prowess in their ranks. However, they have been good in home games. Expect March to play a key role in them going forward. Owned by just 0.3%, even one big haul in the next 4 games (Leicester – H, Huddersfield – A, Crystal Palace – H and Burnley – A) can provide excellent differential value to his owners.

Verdict: High Retain Potential / High Fresh Pick Potential
