There are no real takeaways from Stoke’s home and away form last season. They were mid-table in both respects. They also finished exactly mid-table for the number of team clean sheets – 11. This indicates that whilst they’re a solid team they are not the fortress at home they once were. Attacking wise they scored 41 Premier League goals which is just over an average of two a game.

Stoke Players to Pick for FPL
Stoke offer budget players across their team. Whilst being an unlikely source for big FPL points a player may emerge that proves to be great value.
Stoke Defence
The most certain starter in the Stoke defence is £5.0m rated Erik Pieters. He topped the Stoke defence in terms of FPL points last season with 103. The likely partnership in the centre of defence will be Stoke ever-present Ryan Shawcross (£5.0m) and the on loan Kurt Zouma (£5.5m). Favored to start at right back will be the experienced Glen Johnson (£4.5m). If he does end up starting on a consistent he does have the potential to provide assists. It should be noted however he neither scored or assisted anyone last season. Deputising in the centre of defence and at right back will be the versatile Geoff Cameron (£4.5m).
Stoke Midfielders
New signing Darren Fletcher (£5.0m) is expected to slot straight into the centre of midfield. He is unlikely to provide any real FPL value but does offer a certain starter. The more creative Joe Allen is priced £5.5m and is probably better value than Darren Fletcher. With the exit of Marko Arnautovic Bojan Krkic (£5.5m) will hope to fulfill his early potential on the left of the Stoke midfield. He also adds the bonus of being the favorite to take penalties when Charlie Adam (£5.0m) isn’t on the field. Xherdan Shaqiri (£6.0m) would provide a good value differential option if he can maintain fitness throughout the season. He scored 80 FPL points in 1,699 minutes last season.
Stoke Forwards
Predicting the two Stoke starting forwards isn’t clear cut at this point. We believe the most likely pairing is Saido Berahino (£6.0m) playing just behind Mame Biram Diouf (£5.5m). Peter Crouch always brings an alternative strategy for the manager to implement but he certainly won’t be favored to start. Another option that has only emerged very recently is the £5.5m Joselu who has scored 4 goals in Stoke’s last two friendly matches.
