FPL Gameweek 19 Tips

Gameweek 18 proved to be a high scoring week for a lot of FPL managers. The most transferred in player, Leroy Sane, looked certain to avoid the most transferred in player curse when he was named in the starting lineup. A home fixture against Crystal Palace was a great fixture for him. Surprisingly, the Eagles pulled off the upset and Sane wasn’t involved in either of Man City’s two goals. However, the most popular captain, Mohamed Salah, did return a goal and assist despite being away from home. This wasn’t enough to get the Egyptian in the Gameweek 18 Dream Team though. Heung Min Son was the best performing player. Two goals and two assists resulted in the South Korean scoring a huge 21 points!

Gameweek 19 Captain Choice

Statistically, Harry Kane and Mohamed Salah are the best captain choices for Gameweek 19. Both have favorable fixtures in the form of Bournemouth and Newcastle at home, respectively. Furthermore, the Tottenham front man is coming off a 15 point haul against Everton whereas Salah scored an impressive 12 points away to Wolves.

Elsewhere, Man Utd players are back in high demand. After a 5-1 thrashing of Cardiff, an array of Man Utd players can be considered for the GW19 captaincy. Perhaps the leading contender is Anthony Martial who is Utd’s top scorer in the Premier League and in FPL. The likes of Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard can also be considered.

After three games without a goal, Pierre Aubameyang is back among the goals with two against Burnley. He faces a weakened Brighton defence and will therefore be a tempting captain choice for his owners.

Finally, given Chelsea’s reliance on him, Eden Hazard will also be a contender. The Belgian has been involved in all of Chelsea’s good this season. Despite a tougher than average fixture away to Watford, Chelsea’s star man will still receive a lot of armbands.

Our captain choice is Harry Kane. An understandably close run decision with Mohamed Salah. However, we feel the latter is more likely to be rotated which sealed our decision.
