Gameweek 29 Tips

Less than 10 gameweeks left of thie 2018/19 Fantasy Premier League season. There are still blank and multiple double gameweeks to come but Gameweek 29 provides the standard one fixture for each club.

FPL Gameweek 29 Tips

After back to back hat-tricks at home, it was unsurprising to see Sergio Aguero the most transferred in player for Gameweek 28. A home fixture against West Ham was obviously attractive enough for many FPL managers to entrust him with their captaincy. He didn’t disappoint, scoring the match-winner and a subsequent three point bonus.

Mohamed Salah was the most captained player, again. Despite Liverpool thrashing Watford 5-0, and Salah playing the 90 minutes, he somehow didn’t score or provide an assist. Those who captained him will be equally as perplexed as frustrated.

However, his teammate Virgil van Dijk did score, twice! Along with a clean sheet he returned 20 points.

Gameweek 29 Captain Choice

If Sergio Aguero was a likely starter then he would be the best captain choice. However, Gabriel Jesus has been declared fit. With Aguero playing all 120 minutes of the League Cup final and a further 90 against West Ham in midweek, the Brazilian could be set to replace him against Bournemouth.

Raheem Sterling started on the bench in the West Ham game, and therefore, might be a safer captain pick.

Alternatives include Harry Kane at home to Arsenal. The England captain has a fantastic record against Tottenham’s North London rivals. Furthermore, he looked sharp in his return last weekend and in the loss to Chelsea.

Mohamed Salah, as mentioned above, failed to score points against Watford. Nevertheless, he has been as devastating as he was last season as a whole. Consequently, many FPL managers will give him the armband even in a Merseyside Derby.

Elsewhere, Man Utd host Southampton which gives Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford captaincy potential. The better choice out the two is probably Pogba because he is firstly more likely to start and secondly is on penalties.
