Gameweek 36 Preview
We will be previewing each Fantasy Premier League Gameweek throughout the season. Team fixtures, captain choices and which players to transfer in/out will all be discussed. Here is our FPL Gameweek 36 preview.
Gameweek 36 Fixtures
Before analysing the FPL Gameweek 36 fixtures it is important to note that Gameweek 37 is a Double Gameweek. Therefore it is vital to do transfers in anticipation of this Gameweek also. Liverpool face probably the best fixture on paper for Gameweek 36. Their hosting of 19th placed Stoke could result in Liverpool’s front 3 picking up more points. That is if Jurgen Klopp opts not to change his ahead of the Champions League semi final second leg. Tottenham also have an attractive home fixture against Watford. It is a game that Tottenham will be cognizant that they need the three points in with Chelsea lurking behind them. Chelsea face relegation threatened Swansea but do so in south Wales. Swansea do have four points worth of breathing room in 17th placed but nonetheless they will desperately be trying to pick at least a point from this fixture. For Chelsea three points is paramount. The stakes are lower in the West Ham vs Man City match as both teams have little to play for. Man City are playing for records whilst West Ham is all but secure. Regardless Man City players will still be expected to produce some of the highest FPL point returns of the Gameweek. The biggest game of Gameweek 36 is Arsene Wenger’s last fixture against Man Utd, the Gunners travel to Old Trafford. Man Utd will be favorites here but a tight game will likely ensue.
Gameweek 36 Captain Choice
We can’t look past Mohamed Salah for our Gameweek 36 captain choice.
With Chelsea travelling to 17th placed Swansea Eden Hazard is a viable captain pick. Chelsea are in desperate need of the win given their slim Champions League aspirations which will only add to their attacking need. However, pick with caution as the Belgian only has one goal and one assist in his last 7 fixtures.
Man City’s captain candidates could be either Gabriel Jesus or Raheem Sterling. The champions travel to East London to face West Ham. With Sergio Aguero still out, Gabriel Jesus seems a certain starter. He has scored two and assisted twice in his last two Gameweeks. Irrespective of these stats Man City’s goal scoring statistics provide enough justification to captain him regardless.
Harry Kane is always a contender for the captaincy. In Gameweek 36 Tottenham host Watford which only provides further incentive to captain him. His recent form is of slight concern as he has only scored once in his past 6 fixtures, that one coming in Gameweek 35. Nevertheless with an outside chance of a golden boot, Harry Kane may turn it on for the rest of the season.
The Egyptian seems a guarantee to score points week in week out. Already on a record 288 points for the season his last 4 Gameweek scores have been 29, 7, 8 and 7. Throw in a home fixture against 19th placed and you need look no further for your Gameweek 36 captain choice.
