FPL GW29 Ultimate Guide 2024/25

Gameweek 29 of the FPL calendar will see a handful of teams without a fixture.

Players from Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Liverpool, and Newcastle won’t play and should be benched or transferred out.

Despite the blanks, there are still plenty of good fixtures to target this week. It’s viable to take one or two hits to bring playing assets into your side.

Activating the Free Hit also looks a good strategy this week, especially for managers with many blanking players in their team.

This guide will help you get your team set up to navigate gameweek 29 of the FPL season.

Fixtures GW29 to GW32

Among the teams that play this gameweek, Bournemouth have the standout run-in based on our FPL FDR. Their next 2 opponents are in the bottom 5 teams for expected goals conceded.

Man City also look great in the short-term with back-to-back home games. Leicester in GW30 looks a really promising fixture in particular.

Forest and Man Utd options are especially good for those playing the free hit. They’ve got excellent GW29 fixtures before an increase in difficulty moving beyond.

Despite winning their last 4 league games, now is not the time to target Brighton players, whose next 3 all look relatively tricky.

GW29 Predicted Points

  • Haaland: 5.6
  • Fernandes: 5.0
  • Trossard: 4.8
  • Garnacho: 4.7
  • Tavernier: 4.5

Haaland is the standout FPL asset to own this gameweek, being top of our FPL points predictor. If he’s in your side for GW29, he should be captained.

Fernandes and Trossard are the standout attackers from their sides at the moment and are likely to be involved in any goals their teams score.

Tavernier looks the pick of the Bournemouth attackers following his goal last week.

GW29 Clean Sheet Odds

  • Arsenal: 38%
  • Everton: 38%
  • Man Utd: 36%
  • Notts Forest: 33%
  • Wolves: 33%

While Chelsea are by no means an easy opponent, Arsenal are still the most likely side to keep a clean sheet in GW29. No team has conceded fewer goals than the Gunners.

Everton face a West Ham side struggling for goals and so their defenders look great for GW29. There’s some cheap defensive options from the Toffees available to managers.

Man Utd, Forest and Wolves play the newly-promoted teams this gameweek and therefore have a promising likelihood of a clean sheet.

You can view all teams’ odds of a clean sheet on our Premier League clean sheet odds page.

GW29 – Who’s Starting and Who Isn’t?

Back from injury, Evanilson started in GW28 for Bournemouth. Expect him to be nailed moving forward with Dango dropping to the bench.

With Arsenal struggling for goals in the league, Martinelli should now start after returning from being sidelined.

Man City’s defensive options are limited at present. Gvardiol, Khusanov and Dias’ minutes should all be secure for the upcoming gameweeks.

GW29 Best Transfers

Erling Haaland

[player_card name=”Haaland”]

Haaland looks an exceptional transfer in this week with a 48% chance of scoring, higher than any other player.

He’s got Leicester at home to come in GW30 too which could easily be a haul for the Norwegian.

Chris Wood

[player_card name=”Wood”]

Just 2 goals behind Haaland for the season, and offering more points-per-million than any other attacker, Chris Wood is a great transfer-in at £7.3m.

Playing Ipswich, he’s a fine captaincy candidate for those without the funds to reach Haaland.

Leandro Trossard

[player_card name=”Trossard”]

Trossard looked dangerous against Man Utd in GW28, registering 0.73 xGI in the game.

He’s the most nailed Arsenal attacker at the moment and could offer great value at £6.8m.

Evanilson

[player_card name=”Evanilson”]

Bournemouth’s summer signing scored last gameweek on his first start since returning from injury.

He’s cheap at £5.6m and putting up solid xGI per 90 of 0.54. With the great fixtures the Cherries have coming up, Evanilson is a great pick for the coming weeks.

Kluivert, Semenyo and Tavernier are all great alternatives from Bournemouth’s attack if a midfielder is needed in FPL managers’ sides.

Nikola Milenkovic

[player_card name=”Milenkovic”]

No team has more clean sheets this season than Forest this season, and Ipswich in GW29 offers a great chance to pick up another.

Milenkovic offers the most attacking threat of all the Forest defenders, putting up the most expected goals per 90 minutes.
