DGW33 brings with it the biggest double gameweek of the season, with 6 teams playing twice.
It looks primed for FPL managers to play any of the Free Hit, Wildcard, or Bench Boost chips to maximise their chance of scoring big this gameweek.
The doubling teams, that will importantly also blank in GW34, are:
- Burnley
- Bournemouth
- Brighton
- Chelsea
- Leeds
- Man City
While I’d prioritise using transfers on players that double, its crucial managers consider how their squad will look for the following gameweeks too before making moves, especially given the doublers will all blank in GW34.
Here’s what FPL managers need to know going into GW33.
GW33 Best Transfers
Erling Haaland

Despite a streak of disappointing returns for the Norwegian, Haaland is still probably the most essential player to own this week, as he’ll play twice, with one of those games being against Burnley.
We could see a good deal of rotation in Man City’s second game of the gameweek, as they’ll prioritise the first against Arsenal. Haaland is one of the safer options to start both games, and usually plays 90 minutes.
Other Man City attackers to own include Semenyo, who also usually starts when fit, and Cherki, who was excellent in GW32, and is an especially nice differential pick. The popular trio on WC32 was Haaland, Semenyo and O’Reilly, so managers bringing in their Man City assets this week have an exciting opportunity to go different with Cherki and potentially boost their rank.
Cole Palmer

Palmer has underwhelmed for much of the season, but given his renowned haul potential, its hard to look past him for the double gameweek.
Fellow Chelsea attacker, Joao Pedro, is also a great option this week. He’s £2.8m more affordable and actually has more than double the number of returns that Palmer has for the season.
The double up on both Palmer and Pedro looks great going into GW33, but the slight caveat with this strategy is the poor form Chelsea have been in. Managers (who aren’t on Free Hit) should consider how comfortable they are in holding onto multiple Chelsea picks beyond GW33 before loading up.
Marcus Tavernier

At £5.4m, Tavernier is a low cost pick with high upside going into the double gameweek. His minutes should be secure and he should also be on penalties for Bournemouth.
Tavernier is an especially good option for managers looking to hold onto their double gameweek players beyond GW33. He’s affordable enough to sit on your bench, and you know he’ll play when you need him.
Marcus Senesi

With almost 12 defensive contributions per game and absolute certainty of minutes, Bournemouth’s Senesi is a great pick to bring in this week.
Bournemouth have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 6 and have a favourable double gameweek against Newcastle and Leeds.
Marc Guehi

Guehi is the ideal Man City defender to target ahead of the double gameweek. He’s started every league game since joining the club and has been great for attacking threat too all season.
Given the defensive injuries Man City have right now, Guehi looks the safest bet to start both fixtures.
FPL managers that want absolute certainty of minutes could consider Donnarumma in between the sticks.
Fixtures GW33 to GW36

Looking at our FPL FDR, Man City and Leeds have the standout fixtures. They not only double this week but have some nice fixtures following their GW34 blank. They’re ideal for managers eyeing a GW34 Free Hit and bringing in players for the long-term now.
Conversely, Brighton and Burnely are probably the doubling teams to deprioritise. They’ve got the hardest doubles this week and their following fixtures aren’t overly stand-out.
Villa assets look smart to bring in. They’ve got a decent home fixture this week, another good game in GW34, and further promising fixtures up until GW37.
Finally, Crystal Palace players are good from a fixture perspective too. Their GW33 fixture looks very good, and they’re still to have a double gameweek (likely in GW36).
GW33 Predicted Points
- Erling Haaland: 11.0
- Cole Palmer: 9.5
- Antoine Semenyo: 9.4
- Gianluigi Donnarumma: 8.9
- Marc Guehi: 8.7
Here are all the FPL DGW33 predicted points.
GW33 Clean Sheet Odds
- Nottingham Forest: 45%
- Leeds: 43%
- Aston Villa: 42%
- Man City: 38%
- Crystal Palace: 32%
Looking at our clean sheet odds, Forest defenders look set to do well this week. Despite having a single gameweek, they’re still worth holding onto for any managers that own them.
Its the week of the cheaper defenders as Leeds have strong odds of a clean sheet too. They play Wolves and Bournemouth this gameweek.
GW33– Who’s Starting and Who Isn’t?
Nico O’Reilly picked up an injury in GW32. Unless we hear confirmation of his fitness before the GW33 deadline, I’d look to avoid him or transfer him out, as managers will want Man City assets that are likely to start each game in the double.
Mbeumo was benched for Man Utd on Monday night. While I’d expect him to start future games, it does suggest Carrick’s willingness to differentiate his lineup. Outside of Fernandes, I’d be slightly wary of the other Utd attackers’ minutes moving forwards.
Ekitike picked up a long-term injury in the Champions League. He will have to be sold by owners.
Best Captain Pick GW33
It goes without saying that FPL managers must captain a DGW player this week. Trying to go differential on a single gameweek player could massively backfire.
Haaland is the obvious and best pick. He gets to play the weakest team of the doublers in Burnley, and also Arsenal at home, who are looking more vulnerable defensively of late.
Palmer or Joao Pedro are potential alternatives. They both have good haul potential and fairly good fixtures. Chelsea’s form is the only concern though.
Managers absolutely set on going differential could look at Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Leeds probably have the best set of doubles overall, and Calvert-Lewin should play 90 minutes in both and take penalties.
